For homes over 15 years old, a full rewire is the only way to ensure long-term safety.
How long does a full rewire take?
A typical full rewire takes 7 to 14 working days depending on your unit size and scope. For a standard 4-room HDB, expect around 7 to 10 working days. Larger units and landed properties take longer. If you're renovating at the same time, we coordinate with your contractor so the rewiring fits into the overall renovation timeline without delays.
Do I need to move out during rewiring?
Not necessarily. We work room by room, so you can stay in the unit during the rewire. Power is maintained in areas we're not actively working on. That said, there will be periods of dust and noise, and some homeowners prefer to stay elsewhere for comfort. We'll discuss the schedule during the inspection so you can plan accordingly.
What happens to my walls after rewiring?
We use concealed wiring through existing conduit routes wherever possible, which minimises wall hacking. Where new routes are needed, we cut neat channels and run proper conduit before closing up. We do not do plastering or painting — but we coordinate with your renovation contractor for touch-up work. If you're doing a full renovation, the rewiring happens before plastering and painting anyway.
